Today we tried out some voting systems and had some fun but the possible positive outcomes for learning and teaching were more than matched by the unreliability of the products we tried and the expense…. a technology for the future but difficult to justify at present. Kids (even big kids!) are motivated by cheap little “show me” boards maybe as much… anything that is a novelty and gives a responsible role to each participant helps in learning.

Then we were set the “meaningful tasks”! I found the group work less satifying than the learning yesterday (I suppose I just have so much still to learn!) - but our group produced a really good resume of blogging and podcasting procedures and uploaded it as a blog. This will be a great reminder once back “home” of just what to do since yesterday was so full that a lot of the detail blurred!

We have online forums and discussion groups in my education area and  teachers have not been enthusiastic in their use! Maybe blogging will have more success.

Exactly my thoughts! I have been doing the same (but as a wicki), but will also be refering to everyone elses guides. I also hope to refer colleagues back home to your guides as well. The more stuff we can get like this where scottish teachers are the authors the better!
